What is the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse?
The Mustang Dark Horse will be the model’s first track-ready series in just over two decades! There will eventually be a total of six Dark Horse Mustangs, with the first two models appearing for the 2024 model year, the Mustang Dark Horse S and Dark Horse R. Both models will be equipped for serious speed, delivering a strong powertrain and a very long list of performance features.
How much power does the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse deliver?
Although Ford hasn’t released the exact specs for these racetrack-ready Mustangs, the company says their new 5.0-liter V8 will generate around 500 horsepower! As with other Mustangs, a six-speed manual transmission will be standard and a 10-speed automatic will be optional.

- Torsen rear differential
- Pirelli P ZERO (PZ4) tires with staggered fitting wheels (19-inch-by 9.5-inch front and 19-inch-by-10-inch rear wheels)

- Ford Performance strut tower brace and K-brace
- Handling Package (adds stiffer springs, larger front and rear sway bars, wider Pirelli Trofeo tires, 19-inch-by-10.5 inch front and 19-inch-by-11-inch rear wheels, unique rear wing with integrated Gurney Flap)
- Optional carbon fiber wheels from Carbon Revolution (late availability)
Which features come with the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse?
These Mustangs will deliver unique interior style, including blue contrast stitching throughout the cabin and exclusive blue seatbelts. They’ll also provide a very driver-centric cockpit, including a performance-based steering wheel and an infotainment touchscreen that’s angled toward the driver. Other upscale cabin features include:
- 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster with customizable screens
- 13.2-inch SYNC 4 infotainment touchscreen
- Flat-bottomed steering wheel wrapped in suede, with Bright Indigo Blue accent stitching
- Black Alley interior trim
- 12-speaker B&O sound system with subwoofer

When will the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse Series get here?
The Dark Horse Series should be available alongside the redesigned 2024 Mustang, which we expect to arrive in late 2023! The Dark Horse S and Dark Horse R will be the first two models (out of six) to hit the track.
