Longest Battery Range: 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E

The Mustang Mach-E can stay on the road far longer than the Q4 e-tron. Battery range varies according to which trim model you select, but the California Route 1 will help you drive the furthest between charges, with a 312-mile range. The base Select model delivers a 247-mile range, while the most powerful option, the GT Performance Edition, has a 260-mile range.

Back on the Audi Q4 e-tron, there are only two powertrain options. You can eke the longest range out of the single-motor 40 powertrain, which travels 265 miles between charges. There are two body styles available with the all-wheel-drive 50 powertrain, the regular squareback, with a 236-mile range, and the Sportback, with a 242-mile range.

Premium Power: 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E

In addition to its impressive battery range, the Mustang Mach-E also provides the greatest speed and agility. Just like with EV battery range, powertrain output varies according to which trim model you select, with the GT Performance Edition (480 horsepower, 634 lb-ft of torque) generating the most power.

The most powerful version of the Audi Q4 e-tron has the 50 powertrain (295 hp, 339 lb-ft). As you can see, this Audi wouldn’t exactly beat the Mustang Mach-E on the drag strip. And while the Mustang Mach-E is known for its ability to take a tight turn at surprising speed, the Q4 e-tron is known more for its smooth, quiet performance.

Interior Luxury: 2023 Audi A4 e-tron

This was a close call, but the Audi A4 e-tron has a few features you won’t see inside the Mustang Mach-E. This Audi EV comes standard with some very upscale items, including leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and tri-zone automatic climate control.

Inside the Mustang Mach-E, you’ll only find faux-leather upholstery, and it doesn’t come standard with quite as many niceties. However, many luxury features are widely available. Instead of a panoramic sunroof, all but the base Mustang Mach-E come with a panoramic fixed-glass roof. Similarly, all but the base trim model come with lots of luxuries, like heated front seats and driver’s seat memory settings.

Tech Gear: 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E

This one definitely goes to the Mustang Mach-E. Every trim model comes standard with a big 15.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless smartphone charging pad. A long list of safety aids — including blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control — are also included. And all but the base model come with Ford’s semi autonomous driving system, BlueCruise.

Inside the 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron, you’ll find a similar standard setup, though with a slightly smaller, 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen. The wireless phone charger is optional, but wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. And this Audi EV is big on driver-friendly safety aids like blind-spot warning. All that’s missing is any kind of hands-free driving technology!

The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is the far better contender. If it’s a longer battery range you’re after, it has what you seek. And if you prefer lightning-fast acceleration, this Ford EV is also the best choice.
